I have 30+ years of experience ranging from early-stage startups to billion-dollar enterprises in the software development, DevOps, and site reliability areas. I have managed through crises and across multiple modernization/digital transformations. I have developed software, provided support, and led operations for software platforms across multiple industries including digital radiology, cartoons, film festivals, music, hardware operating systems, and nutrition products.
I love helping others. I am interested in new challenges, supporting startups, and especially interested at the moment in expanding my network to reach the hidden job market as I look for my next full-time role in engineering executive leadership.
I have experience with digital transformations, cloud migrations, software product development, and team architecture restructuring. Determining the most important aspects on which to focus for MVP development, technical risk management, and the technical delivery aspects of go-to-market strategy are challenges to which I can bring a lot of value.
Generative AI and machine learning are disrupting every industry. Being able to separate the signal from the noise and navigate this disruption for the benefit of all whom I work with is important. There is a lot of fear and hype, but applying this new technology properly can bring great benefit to all.
In 2017, Herbalife was facing an investigation by the FTC, being accused of being a pyramid scheme. While it wasn’t doing anything illegal and was not a pyramid scheme, we had to rapidly modernize and transform our e-commerce platform to capture metrics in a way that provided ongoing evidence to the government, showing that its direct marketing business was always above board. I led the rearchitecture of our cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and site reliability engineering teams and systems across our 350-member internet engineering organization to meet a tight deadline from the FTC. Failure to meet the deadline would have meant shutdown of the entire company's operations. We delivered the platform two months early.
