What is your main motivation for being an advisor?

I have been acting as an advisor for more than 35 years. My experience includes being a senior official for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Taipei, Berlin, Tokyo & Shanghai (1988-2002), managing my own consultancy (2002-current); being Director for Asia CEO Partnerships at the World Economic Forum (2006-8), affiliating with major think tanks (Foreign Policy Research Institute, Brookings, etc), and being a visiting professor teaching at the Ivy League university at a master's level (2016-20).

What types of situations are you capable of advising on?

The "tech-tonic" shock waves accompanying the de-coupling/de-risking of strategic technology and energy markets between the U.S./EU/Japan, Taiwan, Japan & SKorea markets, on the one hand, and the PRC and Russian markets, on the other, have created substantial uncertainty for many U.S. companies, ranging from SMEs to Fortune 100s. I am capable of advising on situations like these.

Tell me about the most impactful project or decision you’ve been involved in as an executive.

Managing the Automotive Portfolio at the U.S. Embassy Tokyo during the U.S.-Japan Trade War 1991-93 was the most impactful project I have been involved in as an executive.
