About: The Life Reentry Institute is a grief therapy practice that provides a supportive social structure to the client who is in the process of shifting from a “waiting room” mindset to one of reentry. It supports individuals in understanding the many layers of their grief and corrects the false misconception that grief is a process of indefinite mourning. The Life Reentry model does not replace old models of grief. Instead, it is the next step in the journey to healing and new life after loss from death, divorce, job loss, addiction dependence, and so on. The organization offers face-to-face training or a 12 week online training course for those that prefer a virtual experience.
Founder and CEO, Christina Rasmussen, started developing The Life ReEntry Institute in 2017 to provide the tools and support to educate others about the grieving process and change any negative misconceptions. She is the bestselling author of Second Firsts: Live, Laugh, and Love Again, and her work on grief and mourning has been featured on ABC News, NPR, The White House Blog, and MariaShriver.com.
Christina’s vision is to integrate The Life ReEntry Institute’s methodology across social work and psychological academic curriculums in universities, counseling centers, hospice bereavement centers, hospitals, and in churches everywhere by 2025.
